I don't know about you .. but watching the new "Extreme Couponing" on TLC had me totally intrigued! How can these people purchase hundreds to THOUSANDS of dollars worth of merchandise and spent a mere $5-$10!?!?! I WANT IN! So I set out that same night looking to learn.. How to Coupon!!! Obviously this isn't your basic coupon style. This is extreme. This is intense. And this is money saving!

So get ready for a new section on my blog: "Couponing Crazy!"

I will post links to articles teaching you how to get started, and where to find coupons. Every week I will complete a post showing you the best deals using flyers, and coupons combined.

Here's a sneak peek of my day's shopping trip, as I will post how the store PAID ME $8.31 to take these items home!

Have I mentioned lately that I am in LOVE? Yes, in LOVE with the OLIOBOARD website!! This site allows you to create room board displays for your home. Here are some of my recent ones:

Mom's Bedroom

Main Bathroom

Brayden's Room

And finally ... The Living Room

Although I must admit that I am not 100% happy with the overall look when I see it in this picture. I am not sure what colour to use as an accent. Any suggestions??

Kids Say the Silliest Things!!

A few days ago the wonderful "Becky Higgins" shared an idea a reader sent to her... Perhaps you can relate...

Meggan in Sequim, Washington.

Meggan wrote, I was trying to recall the last time I actually sat down with my kids and just had a conversation with them. Well to be honest, it’s been a while. I’ve been so busy with errands, taking kids to school, meetings, etc. that I haven’t spent that one-on-one time that each kid deserves with his/her parent. So, I put a hold on our morning activities, and sat my kids down & talked.

So here I present to you Meggans creative idea!

Sit down with your child on a monthly, or yearly basic and fill out the question sheet, exactly as they say it! You will treasure this recorded conversation for a lifetime!

As I was checking out some of my favourite blogs
(as I do everynight...I call this..Momma Time!)
I came across this...

The Sock Wreath, over at Blue Cricket Design
Tell me this isn't A-Door-Able!! (No pun-intended)

When I read that it was made out of socks I couldn't believe it!

Becca writes:

"And the next time you get on your kids or husbands backs for not picking up their socks just threaten them that if they don't pick them up they may end up on a wreath!"

So totally cute and I think a definite project to add to my 'hourly-growing' to do list!!

THANKS BECCA!!
               Alphabet Photography

I'm sure everyone has heard about this, and most of us LOVE it!
The only downfall is the large price tag that comes with ordering from the company.
Sooooooo like usual, I plan to DIY!

I spent the morning running around the house, and the neighborhood looking for 'things' that
resembled a letter! A few I couldn't find so Google images to the rescue!
I used Picnik to turn the photos to "Black and White"

Personally I am choosing: HOME & HOFLAND
But you could create anything!
Your name. Your last name. Your children's names. Family. Love. Hope. Laugh. Welcome. Enjoy
           and the list goes on.....

I used a word document to display my choice of letters making sure they looked okay together.
Then I sent them off to Walmart for printing.
I choose to do the HOME in 5x7 (I printed a copy of 4x6 just in case)
And the Hofland in 4x6 (because of the large amount of letters in the name)

Now we are off (as a family) to search for a horizontal frame! Wish me luck!!

Loyalty ... Does it still hold a meaning in 2011?

As a good person we spend minutes, hours, years being loyal to our family, to our friends, to our employers.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where selfishness seems to be the rule of the day, and personal gain the objective of most relationships and endeavors.

One of the most honorable character traits a person can develop is the ability to be loyal. But does anyone  really understand what being loyal means anymore?

In the famous words of Duane Lee Chapman "Where Mercy is Shown, Mercy is Given"

Is a company who states: "Our commitment to efficient, honest and professional service, has been the key to our success" showing loyalty to their customers? This same company who recently fired an employee of nine years with NOTHING more then a "have a good life"?

Think about it .... whats left in this world if no one is loyal?

This morning I awoke to a message reply in my Facebook inbox. My mom had written: "I know your a good mom!!! Just look at him he's perfect!!!" I instantly melted (Yes, with that stupid permanent grin on my face). That little comment that took my mom two seconds to write and send, will keep me smiling all day.

Have our lives become so busy and important that we forget about others around us? What about the boy that delivers your paper at 6 in the morning? How about the lady that makes you coffee? Or even your husband who starts your car on a cold morning? Today, lets show compasion to those around us! Pick a friend, a stranger, a relative, and extend a simple comment of gratitude! I promise you it will make their day, and yours too!

Here's a cute story you may like:

During my second year of nursing school our professor gave us a quiz.  I breezed through the questions until I read the last one:  "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?"  Surely this was a joke.  I had seen the cleaning woman several times, but how would I know her name?  I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank.  Before the class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our grade.  "Absolutely," the professor said.  "In your careers, you will meet many people.  All are significant.  They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say hello."  I've never forgotten that lesson.  I also learned her name was Dorothy.  ~Joann C. As I was organizing and plotting out my very first bloggin site, I was receiving many comments from other Blogger Moms. They were asking questions about my life, who I am, and overall my plans for blogging. So here it goes...my first blog devoted to all my other Blogger Mom friends!

Who am I?

I am a young mom of a two and a half year old son. I am a SAHM (Stay at Home Mom). I am currently completing a course to become a certified Medical Office Adminisrator. I am a writer, and begining editor for a few online writing companies. And of course I scrapbook. My goal for the year is to become more like the ultra-moms. I want to leave my home looking as put together as my son with more than two minutes to spare. I am striving to find the balance to be the mommy, the woman, and the wife without feeling like someone is feeling neglected. I want to get everything I need to do and more without feeling ready to collapse at the end of the day, or being a drill sargent to everyone around. I want to silence the voice inside comparing myself and my family to everyone around. I simply want to be happier tomorrow than I was today!!

What is your favourite hobby?

For about six years I have spent every spare second perfecting my scrapbooks. I love having these gorgeous books filled with every memory I have. Despite scrapbooking for so long my technique has definetely changed since having a child. I now follow two major techniques. The first is the classic 12x12 scrapbook album pages, and the other is Becky Higgins: Project Life. *More on that here*

What is your blogging philosophy?

I am a mom, a wife, a homemaker, eventually a career woman, a writer, a scrapbooker, a woman, and a friend. I write about what is in my heart or something I think is funny, or things I find useful or convenient. *Prepare for many tips and tricks*

Just for Fun:

I am a mom
I have one son
I have always wanted four boys
I love spending everyday with my son
I wish I saw my whole family more
I love my mom
I love that she calls me for advice with everything
She and I could not be more different as moms
My life changed the day my son was born
I have two younger brothers, and two younger sisters
I have always wanted to home school, but I would never do it
My son is smarter then average (doctor approved :))
I love to rediscover the world through the eyes of my son
I wanted to be a teacher when I was in school – but never even thought of becoming one because I knew I could not handle dumb, unmotivated, or disruptive children
My kids will never have a computer in their rooms
I wish I had the motivation, time-without my son, or the resources, to loose weight
I wish I was 1/10 as cute as my son.
I would rather be fit than thin – and I see it as more attainable.
My favorite movie of all time – The Blind Side - I love the story and the southern accent!!
I love watching movies with my family.
I am so glad that I was a young mother.
I think blogs with colors are more visually interesting then ones that are just in black.
My favourite Tv Chef is Rachael Ray – but her show makes me nuts sometimes.
I believe that one should marry her best friend.
I hope my children only marry once and know true, unconditional love.
I want to meet my great-grandchildren.
